OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM is it FIXED or BROKEN
Over 41 million Americans don't have health insurance. How can so many millions of people living in the richest nation in the world not have health insurance? If an American is sick, wounded, or dying, shouldn't they have the right to get medical treatment? Or is medical assistance reserved only for the rich?
4 out of every 10 senior citizens aren't taking their prescription medicines. According to a recent study conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Commonwealth Fund, and Tufts-New England Medical Center, many seniors are skipping doses or not taking their prescriptions at all simply because they can't afford them. Shouldn't all Americans, especially our seniors, be able to afford lifesaving medication? Shouldn't our government support the interests of our seniors instead of pharmaceutical companies?
Many seniors can't afford to visit their dentist. Researchers at the University at Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine recently conducted a study and found that when it came to dental care the biggest barrier for seniors was dental costs. Is it fair that some seniors urgently need dental care, but can't afford to visit their dentist?
At fixingamerica.net, we believe that every person, no matter their age or background, living in the United States deserves to have health insurance and should be able to afford prescription medicines and dentist visits. We believe that as the richest country on Earth, no American should ever have to suffer simply because they lack the means. Other nations offer free health insurance. Other nations offer cheaper prescription medicines. So why are so many millions of American still without proper health coverage?
